How did THAT happen?

A description of how a chat over a cup of tea turned into a garden design business and how that led on to a place in the Great British Bake Off Ten 2016

I hope the audience will take away the message that within reason you should follow your dream, you may not always get where you had originally envisaged but the journey will be fun and the destination may be more exciting that you imagined.

Jane Beedle is a professional garden designer of 15 years, amateur baker and recent finalist on The Great British Bake Off. Hailing from Beckenham, Jane swapped her gardening rake for her rolling pin and followed her family’s passion for baking into the famous GBBO tent. After serving countless cakes, biscuit’s, fleur-de-lis mousses and a pie in the shape of the Tudor Rose, Jane made it to the final where she received the highly coveted Paul Hollywood handshake thanks to her delicious meringue crown. Since Christmas she has been appearing regularly on ITV’s Lorraine show.

Previously Kat worked for over 20 years as a social worker, specialising in keeping children and young people safe in relationships and has a degree in Sexual Health from Greenwich University. She has lectured and spoken at conferences all around the UK and also in Turkey on her specialism.
