The winners of Beckenham’s ‘Best Dressed Window Competition’ were unveiled on 25 June at the second Beckenham Business Association breakfast meeting at Barclays Bank, Beckenham.
Local people were invited to vote in stores or online, with businesses competing to create the most eye-catching shop front.
This year’s theme was West End Musicals.
10 businesses took part, and a combined 3,650 votes were cast in store and online.
The winner was Beckenham Bookshop on the High Street, whose theme was an imaginary film, called ‘Musical of Dad’. In second place was Steven Harris Opticians on Village Way with a Mary Poppins theme, and in third was Manor House Estates on the High Street, with the Wizard of Oz.
Chloe Ross, Chair of Copers Cope Area Residents’ Association presented Kimberley Humberstone, an assistant at Beckenham Bookshop who came up with the ‘Musical of Dad’ idea, with the winner’s trophy. The runners up received beautiful Beckenham Town crested certificates.
Jackie Groundsell, Chair of Beckenham Business Association, said: “We’d just like to thank all the shops and businesses that took part, we loved your shop window displays!”
The annual ‘Best Dressed Window Competition’ is run by the Copers Cope Area Residents’ Association in conjunction with Beckenham Business Association. The two organisations work closely together, supporting each other for the benefit of Beckenham.
