Beckenham Business Association is delighted to be supporting the restoration of the town’s much loved bandstand with the purchase of a personalised Bandstand Brick.
The BBA brick will be one of hundreds that will form a circular path around the late Victorian bandstand in Croydon Recreation Ground when it is restored later this year.
The Friends of Croydon Road Recreation Ground are working hard, in partnership with Bromley Council, to make the restoration of the bandstand a reality and they’re asking people to support their appeal by buying personalised Bandstand Bricks.
Individuals, families, groups, organisations and businesses can buy the high quality bricks at a cost of £100 each, which includes a short bespoke inscription.
The much loved bandstand has links to one of Beckenham’s most famous residents, David Bowie, and the Beckenham Arts Laboratory, who together organised the Beckenham Free Festival in 1969. It is a key local heritage feature and an important asset to the park and the wider community.
The Bandstand Bricks are a great way to promote and raise the profile of your business. They can also be used as a give-away to business partners or clients.
The bricks will be installed at the same time as the restoration of the bandstand and brick purchasers will be invited to a celebration launch event once the restoration works and pathway are complete.
Please support this wonderful heritage appeal and be part of your local history. To buy a Bandstand Brick or be part of the launch party, please visit www.bromley.gov.uk/beckenhambandstand.
