Allison Parkinson is a children’s author and illustrator. Her books celebrate diversity and take young readers on fun and educational adventures.
She was inspired to start writing stories when her daughters (who are mixed race) were younger because they found it almost impossible to find books where the central character looked like them. By basing many of her characters and illustrations on her daughters, she hopes to do her small bit to help more children see themselves at the centre of adventures.
Allison can also help others share their stories (whether they be corporate, personal or fictional) through her copywriting, editing and proofreading services.
